Welcome to the 1st edition of this publication! The goal of this is to let our hockey family know what is going on with players that have gone through our program and are now playing at a higher level. I will only be spot lighting players that are not currently playing in the area.

Levi Cudmore was a fan favorite when he played for the GPR Spoilers. He is now a member of the Winnipeg Blues which plays in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). Levi wears the #17 sweater and has made an immediate impact for his team. He is currently 4th on the team with 14 goals and 12 assists for a total of 26 points in 33 games. His 14 goals are the 2nd most for the Blues and ties him for 5th in the league with the league leader netting 20. Levi has tallied 2 power play goals and 1 game winner, scoring the final goal in the 5th round of a shootout in November. Levi had a hat trick on November 5th against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines. He has also accumulated 51 penalty minutes.

Here is a little bit of information about the MJHL taken from their website.

The mission statement of the MJHL is “To provide each player with an elite hockey development experience with a strong emphasis on education and citizenship.” The MJHL provides wonderful opportunities for young men who are interested in developing as hockey players while pursuing educational and hockey dreams. The MJHL develops players for advancement to higher levels of hockey. When a player decides to play for a MJHL team he will be joining an impressive group of young men who have played in the League and gone on to greatness in the NHL and in other careers. Former MJHL players who have starred or are currently playing in the NHL include Bob Clarke, Reg Leach, Tyler Arnason, Mike Ridley, Duvie Westcott, Shane Hnidy and many many more.

If you would like to look into more information about this league, their website is:

I plan on giving updates on Ethan Peterson and Logan Syrup in upcoming editions. If you know of other players that played in Park River that you would like to see spot lighted, please let contact me at pr.youthhockey@gmail.com
