Iowa plays in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League which plays games all over the US. Ethan is 6'1" and 185 lbs. and wears the #37 sweater for his team. He has played in 16 games this season accumulating a .902 save percentage with a 2.85 goals against average. Ethan is considered an elite prospect by USA Hockey and was chosen for the USA Hockey Select 17 camp that was held in Amherst NY in 2016. A highlight of his season was winning the Buck Classic tournament in September. Ethan got the start in the championship game, stopping 30 shots in a 5-1 victory to take home the cup. Here is some information taken from the T1EHL website about the league he plays in.

Tier 1 Elite Hockey League is the Nation’s premier amateur hockey league featuring 20 organizations stretching from coast to coast.  With significant visibility, top level talent, and elite coaching often coming from the upper levels of professional hockey, the Tier 1 Elite League boasts the ability to move young, talented players to organizations such as  Major JuniorTier I Jr HockeyNCAA Hockey[1]NHL[2], and other professional leagues.

The T1EHL showcase tournaments and games are heavily attended by scouts from the USHLNCAA schools, and the OHL due to the convenience of seeing many top players in one game or weekend. This has led to a significant percentage of Tier 1 players moving on, making the league one of the most respected in the United States for amatuer hockey.

Ethan is showing that whether you are scoring goals or stopping them, you have the ability to play at a high level. It doesn't matter whether you are from a major US city or a small town like Park River, if you work hard, you can make your dreams a reality. Congratulations to Ethan for continuing to prove, Park River is a great place to start your hockey journey!
